Karl Lagerfeld’s Custom Gold Apple Watch

Karl Lagerfeld was gifted a custom made, all gold Apple Watch on Wednesday. His bodyguard and personal assistant, Sebastien Jondeau posted a photo of the watch to his Instagram with the caption, “1st apple watch specially made for KarL !! Amazing !!! Thanks #apple !!!!!! @karllagerfeld”.

While the value of the watch was not listed, Apple Insider reports that a standard yellow gold 42mm Apple Watch retails for approximately $12,000 to $15,000. Lagerfeld’s custom designed Apple Watch is believed to be almost double the average retailing price.

As Apple continues its venture into high fashion, enlisting celebrities like Drake and Lagerfeld and already having its latest toy appear in the pages of Elle and Vogue, we can’t but wonder how big the watch will get given its exorbitant price tag.
