Alexis Mabille’s New Collection Caters for the Neurotic City Girl Who Mixes Sports, Work and Play
We invite you to join us as we take a look at the Alexis Mabille ready-to-wear presentation at Paris Fashion Week for autumn/winter 2015. Fashion One presents highlights from the gorgeous runway show and brings you an exclusive interview with the designer who speaks about the inspiration and concept behind his latest designs.
Mabille wanted to concentrate on an attitude rather than a defined theme and explored the active life of city women. He noticed that in Paris, and other international cities, women are constantly on the move, exercising, going from work to parties, from one thing to another without stopping. Describing the urban city as “neurotic”, the designer wanted to create clothes for a hyperactive girl who can mix casualness and sophistication in a tasteful way.
The sporty chic collection included tailored tracksuits, tuxedo pants and wrap mini-dresses alongside jersey jumpsuits and oversized chunky knit accents as well as fur trims. Models were styled with fresh makeup and athletic slicked back hair, casual slouched beanies also made an appearance paired with drop earrings and golden wrist cuffs. Rather than rely on eye catching embroidery there were delicate colored chains adding details onto dresses, coats and scarves, giving shimmering movement to the pieces.
