Daft Punk Gets Lucky while Chloë Sevigny Joins the Jury

The 56th Annual Grammy Awards were held on January 26, 2014, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. French dance/electronic duo Daft Punk dominated this year’s prestigious celebration of music industry achievements. The pair, who permanently conceal their identities behind robotic helmets, won five awards including Album of the Year for Random Access Memories and Record of the Year with Pharrell Williams for their ubiquitous summer anthem, “Get Lucky.” Hip-hop duo Macklemore & Ryan Lewis won four trophies, including Best New Artist, while breakout 17-year-old New Zealander Lorde received awards for Best Pop Solo Performance and Song of the Year.

British designer Stella McCartney, known for her sharp sense of tailoring and uniquely feminine sensibility, is collaborating with sportswear behemoth Adidas to open a store in Miami. The shop offers a unique collaborative synergy between fashion and sportswear, selling a dynamic range of apparel for an active yet fashion-conscious lifestyle. McCartney, who began her relationship with Adidas in 2003 with a limited collaboration, praised Miami as the perfect place to establish the store.

Chloë Sevigny will join the jury of the 2014 Hyères International Festival of Fashion and Photography. The festival, a huge fashion and art photography event, has taken place annually at the end of April since 1985. The American actress and model is considered a fashion icon, with numerous appearances in magazines as well as varied collaborations with Marc Jacobs and Opening Ceremony.

British fashion multinational Arcadia Group has banned the use of angora fur in its stores after a distressing video emerged from angora farms in China. The group’s retailers that have implemented the ban include Topshop, Miss Selfridge, BHS, Dorothy Perkins and Wallis.
